The Corrected Orthogonal Electrocardiogram
نویسنده
چکیده
A NUMBER of reports on normal ranges of corrected orthogonal electrocardiographic measurements have appeared in the literature.'-12 They were derived, however, from limited numbers of subjects and the types of electrocardiographic and vectorcardiographic measurements varied largely from one study to another. The reported results are therefore not always strictly comparable. In spite of these limitations, a striking similarity in results was found, together with a significant decrease in size of normal ranges as compared to conventional vectorcardiographic systems. Both these features can be attributed to the lead corrections used, which reduce markedly interindividual variations in effective electrical lead direction and lead strength.'3 Data reported in the present study can, therefore, serve as standard for any of the corrected orthogonal lead systems.'4'7 Discrepancies in direction are negligible for all practical purposes, and amplitude values can be easily converted from one system to another by use of standard conversion factors.'8' 19 The Frank lead system15 used in the present study has been gaining widespread acceptance because of its ease of application. No general agreement exists on optimal electrocardiographic and vectorcardiographic

Comparison between scalar and corrected orthogonal electrocardiogram in diagnosis of acute myocardial infarcts.
Twelve-lead electrocardiograms and orthogonal electrocardiograms taken with Frank's corrected orthogonal lead system have been compared in 259 patients with recent myocardial infarction. In the scalar electrocardiograms a diagnostic recognition rate of 62 per cent was recorded. QIRratios > 0O2I in X lead, > o 22 in Y lead, and I -20 in Z lead were used as signs of myocardial infarctio...

متن کاملCardiac Syndrome X Electrocardiographic Patterns Using Signal-Averaged Orthogonal Leads and VCG Indices
Cardiac syndrome X (CSX) is a clinical condition, characterized by angina, positive stress test and negative coronary angiography. Myocardial ischemia is suggested to influence the ischemic changes in the electrocardiogram (ECG), observed during stress test. The aim of this study, is to obtain CSX patterns of the high-resolution vectorcardiographic (VCG) loops in the horizontal (H), frontal (F)...
متن کاملCORRECTED QT DISPERSION IN CHILDREN WITH ISOLATED UNCOMPLICATED MITRAL VALVE PROLAPSE
Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a relatively frequent valvular abnormality. In both children and adults with MVP, an increased incidence of ventricular arrhythmias has been reported. QT dispersion, defined as the difference in duration between the longest QT interval and the shortest one, for a given set of electrocardiographic leads has been proposed as a sign of regional difference in card...
